MEDIATION FEES

All mediation fees are due before mediation begins. Unless otherwise agreed by the mediator, each party represented by a lawyer/law firm is a considered a “separate party” and is responsible for its mediation fee. James reserves the right not to begin or conduct mediation if the fees are not paid or arrangements are not made for invoicing.

Please complete the case summary document you received with your mediation confirmation and return it via email or fax at your earliest convenience. This provides me an opportunity to review and understand some of the issues in dispute.

  • Full Day Mediation
    • $1,550.00 per party 
    • Full Day Session: 9:30 AM – 4:30 PM unless otherwise agreed by the parties.
    • Lunch is included in the fee and menus will be available so that we may accommodate individuals’ dietary needs for face-to-face mediations.
  • Half Day Mediation:
    • $750.00 per party
    • Morning Session: 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM
    • Afternoon Session: 1:30 PM – 4:30 PM
    • Evening Session: 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM
    • Snacks are provided.

James will accommodate the parties and mediate cases on Saturdays with prior notice. Fee schedules are the same as Full Day and Half Day Mediation listed above.

Travel Policies

All normal travel expenses will be divided equally between the parties when face-to-face mediation requires travel outside the Houston metro area. Air fare, hotel accommodations, and transport to and from airport/hotel will be added to the mediation fees.  Office rental will be charged to the parties at the rate charged to me for the number of offices required to accommodate the parties involved in the dispute. Fees must be paid in advance for cases involving travel. Cancellation after mediator has traveled result in non-refundable charges for mediation and expenses involved in the travel.

Cancellation Policies

I do not charge for cancellation unless travel has occurred out of the Houston metro area. Too many variables enter into the scheduling of a mediation. Please know that I appreciate you providing as much notice as possible for rescheduling or cancellation.
